Loose Ends

On this New Year’s Eve, I want to thank everyone for the love and support and energy you bring to my life. I am truly blessed to have such a beautiful network. I wish you all the best for the new year.

This weekend I finish the 29th week of my pregnancy.  3/4 of the way done.  Wow.  Kiddo is getting big, I can feel him kicking, rolling, and twisting often during the day (and night…).  I am always amused when I sit in a position he doesn’t like and he gives a little “kick kick” to nudge me in the right direction.

Overall I’m feeling really good.  I’m tired, and ever since I hit month 7 I have had a sour stomach but those are not really big complaints.  I’m starting to have to be more deliberate with my movements: getting in out of cars, getting out of bed, reaching for things.  My body tends to surprise me if I move too quick.  The more yoga and walking I do, the better I feel, and being off work for a few days has been great for both of those pursuits.  Mostly I am just thrilled and excited, and I just love feeling that little guy do flips. 

This morning was such a treat.  I got all cuddled up with my two boys and enjoyed not getting out of bed for a nice warm drowsy while.  I tucked myself in the two bajillion extra pillows I’ve been sleeping with and it was like being in a big soft hug.

Choosing a name is a big responsibility. I have thought of lots of good names over the years, but when it comes down to picking The One, The Name that a human being will have to live with for his entire life, the decision has some real gravity. So we’ve come up with a few that we think will give our little guy a good start.
Lovie Tank (but he would go by L. Tank, or just Tank). If he ever has a little brother we can name him Dozer.

Poseidon Adventure. God of the sea, adventure is his middle name! How good is this?

His default name is still Smudge, from the first day we saw him as a little smudge on the ultrasound picture. It was a truly amazing moment, a tiny flicker of a heartbeat, a little grey beginning of possibility.
